Maybe Expert allows you to be more creative early on but from what I've seen, it seems to really screw your characters stat-wise if you're not careful. However, it also has the disadvantage of having fewer nodes. I just know the Standard grid well I guess. The only difference between the two is the positioning of the abilities and the fact that in the Expert Sphere grid you can move into the other characters sphere grids sooner than in the Basic one. Not to mention when you start statmaxing, the standard grid has like 30 extra nodes for you to use, but that's kinda irrelevant unless you're using BHPL anyway. Or if you wanted a real laugh then you could punt Yuna over to Auron's grid so your aeons will have absolutely ridiculous physical attacks, etc. You could play Blitzball after it opens up on Mi'ihen Highroad to get Teleport Spheres, at which point you could move Yuna over to Lulu's grid if you want to give her Black Magic spells, or if you want to be really broken, let Kimahri infiltrate the lategame grid areas when you get Lv.2 Key Sphere at Macalania, then teleport the mages over there too! Are people forgetting about Key Spheres and other special spheres?Īs an example, you could save up your sphere levels on Kimahri and either have him cut across Rikku's grid to the latter parts of Yuna's grid to learn Holy, or take him across Wakka's grid to learn -aga spells and Flare, far earlier than Yuna or Lulu will ever get there themselves. People tout creativity as one of the defining points of the Expert grid, but as far as I can see, it just makes your stats lower. And doing this Yuna ends up being able to solo the stat sphere monsters in the arena with her aeons much quicker than you could sensibly max more characters. The parts of the game she's missing for are easy enough. MEDICA trade fair and world forum for medicine: All trends in the medical technology industry in Dsseldorf / Germany. I've tended on my playthroughs to power Yuna up, and Yuna alone. The actual hardest part of maxing luck and not accuracy or evade is the obvious drawback that if you don't actually get both evasion and accuracy over 120 or so before starting to stat max other stuff, you will be getting hit with everything, and missing a whole lot if you don't bother ever leveling evade + accuracy. And will give you the maximum possible evasion for everything except one attack in the whole game. As has been pointed out, the Expert one is technically the weaker one in terms of sphere nodes but if you get to the point of maxing out character stats, those extra points are basically useless (you'll probably realize you can beat every enemy in the game after maxing out using only 80 of the grid anyway). Which is a ridiculous reason to keep 30 evasion on your characters when you could just stick it on before the battle and dump it after. I thought I read that you only needed 30 evasion per character with maxed luck? And that is in fact only for one of Penance's attacks.
